Description
OSP INSPECTOR
- Must be knowledgeable in outside plant construction. Line, splicing and substructure.
- 1-5 years of experience
- Need to have experience in conduit and fiber optic cable placement.
- Familiar with City of Houston, TXDOT and other agencies practices to assist with crews boring within their respective ROWs.
JOB DUTIES:
- Job function will include but not be limited to driving from site to site within the City of Houston and the surrounding areas. Inspector will be required to provide daily reports on crews install practices and issues that may have come up in the field.
- Will also need to go on site walks to identify new poles to attach to.
- Need ability to know if that specific pole is unable to be attached to or if a fiber build to the specific pole is unreasonable.
SKILLS:
- Need to be able to draw up area to scale and provide back to firm for CAD.
- Some GIS experience would be beneficial along with AutoCAD and Microsoft tools.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
Engineering degree of 3 to 5 years of field experience.
REQUIRED SHIFT:
Standard shift would be 8 to 5 with limited overtime.
