Description
Vivid Resourcing are currently recruiting for an aerospace client based in London on a 12 month experienced Quality Engineering Contract.
Working within the Quality team the Quality Engineer will have the responsibility of driving down the cost of non-quality and continually reduce customer escapes through the application of appropriate Quality and Continual Improvement tools.
The client manufactures highly complex precision machined components for the aerospace industry and therefore requires the Quality Engineer to have suitable experience from both a Precision Engineering and Aerospace background.
Key activities:
- To manage the Material Review Board (MRB) activity and subsequent Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action (CA)
- Development and creation of Procedures, Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) as required
- Read and disseminate customer specifications
- To ensure adherence with internal and external customer/regulatory requirements
- Measure and report Cost of Non-Quality and associated KPIs
- To participate in regular P/FMEA and customer escape prevention plans
- Contribute to internal and external audits as required
- Application of key quality tools such as: P/FMEA, Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), 8D, 5 Why's, process mapping, and the support of others in their use
- To represent the Quality function at quality review meetings (SQCDP)
- To assist in New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Monitor and analysis of manufacturing performance through Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Generation of First Article Inspection (FAI) reports per AS9102
Skills:
- Quality & Continual Improvement tools such as: P/FMEA, MSA & Gauge R&R, 8D, Process Mapping, 5 Why's, Ishikawa etc (Key)
- At least 3 years' experience from a precision engineering background (Key)
- At least 3 years' experience as a Quality Engineer (key), preferably with additional Inspection experience (1st principles & CMM specific) (nice to have)
- Statistical Process Control experience (Key)
- Auditing experience (Nice to have)
- Six Sigma green belt or higher (Nice to have)
