Lab Engineer for Signal Processing Team
Initial 7 month freelance contract + extensions

A leading technology company.
Background:
We are building a novel FMCW-LIDAR-System with electronical beam steering in 2D. We want to extend our existing demo setups.
Therefore, the tasks to be executed are diverse, we require a candidate with a broad range of skills:
Mechanical Design - Adapting the sheet metal construction to mount PCBs and PICs (photonic integrated circuit).
Electronical engineering - Getting the control system of the PIC based on analog circuitry running, adapting available PCB layouts in Altium Designer.
Signal processing + Python programming- Optimization of the Python based processing chain for execution time.
Furthermore, the candidate will build a measurement setup and execute measurements under different environments (different light conditions, different lens,).
Experience:
- Experience in Microcontroller, python programming and lab equipment
- Understanding of signal processing and electronic circuits is required
- Experience with Laser, Integrated Photonics (photonics on chip) and Mechanical design (CAD) is nice to have
