Description
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Downhole. Aberdeen. Excellent Salary PackageProgressive Global Energy are currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a downhole focused company based in the North of Aberdeen.
On a day to day basis you will be responsible for the design and development of new and existing tools and systems as well as all relevant documentation.
You will be involved in stress analysis calculations, the generation of CAD models and drawings (including layouts, assemblies, details) You will generate procedures, including assembly and test - this will also include test reports.
As a senior design engineer you will responsible for checking the work of others and mentoring the junior designers before releasing any engineering documents.
Required Knowledge/Experience:
Previous downhole tools experience is essential
CAD applications (Ideally Autodesk Inventor);
MathCAD
Materials - metals and elastomers
Mechanical components
Stress analysis calculations
Project Engineering
National and international standards related to Oilfield equipment.
Education:
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering degree
