I am looking to hire a Project Engineer for one of my public sector client.

Please see the below job specification:

Essential: APMP

Desirable: membership of professional institution/association; Client ship safety management (SSMO) certificate;

Key Task Deliverable:

Technical support to in-service support activity and lines of development associated with the CSM transformation programme.

Management of technical risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies and opportunities

Additional Information:

  • Maritime combat systems (MCS) is an integral part of the director ships support business area and enables military capability through the provision, delivery and support of effective, efficient and safe combat systems and equipment fitted to surface ships and submarines.
  • MCS is responsible to the royal navy for the support of all surface ship combat systems and associated equipment in its capacity as the combat system design authority(csda) and the strategic equipment authority (sea). The approach to warship support has evolved signficantly over the past decade, and a surface ship support (SSS) transformation programme is currently underway to introduce a common support model (CSM) for all complex warships - targeting queen elizabeth class (qec) and type 45.
  • The work required within MCS encompasses both the evolution of current support arrangements and the development of new equipment management arrangements to meet csm programme requirements and timelines. The mcs project engineer will have a strong engineering background, with experience of equipment acquisition and in-service support to military front-line operations.
  • The project engineer will provide support to the development of technical solutions that meet customer capability needs, applying their knowledge and experience of integrated logistic support to ensure that maritime combat system and equipment support requirements are satisfied in an efficient, effective and safe manner within the CSM arrangements.
  • The project engineer will hold a minimum of onc/ond in a relevant engineering subject, have proven project management skills and ability, and be able to both develop technical requirements and assess industry proposals.
  • In addition, the project engineer will have practitioner level competence in system safety, configuration management, project controls and the management of quality.
