Job Specification for Mechanical Design EngineersSummary
To be part of the team that designs the Bodies, Chassis and Cabs of our vehicles and supports new product projects, as well as customer support, cost reductions and product improvements.Experience required
- A sounds background in mechanical engineering
- 2D / 3D CAD Modelling, General Arrangements, DFM & Production Drawings
- Experience of engineering design solutions in areas of complex assemblies
- Experience of working to industry engineering standards
- Concept design & detail experience
- Knowledge of Yellow Goods / Off Highway / On Highway / Heavy Automotive products would be advantageous but not essential
- Design and engineering change control experience
- Understanding of BS8888, dimensioning and geometric tolerancing in mechanical components
- FEA / Stress Component calculation experience beneficial
Candidates must possess as a minimum qualification:
Bachelors Degree in a Mechanical Engineering discipline (or similar: Motorsport/ Automotive / Aerospace) or HNC/HND with relevant commercial experience
