Description
Summary:Responsible for developing harnesses, cables and electrical schematics for propulsion/auxiliary engines, and other marine electronic products.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- The engine harness design engineer is responsible for releasing and maintaining drawings of harness assemblies, wiring groups and related components.
- Design harnesses and related groups for new product and coordinate design changes for existing product.
- Engineer will either complete the detailing or manage the detailing to be completed by other teams.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining Engineering Data System (EDS) information for harness assemblies, wiring groups and related components.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining Global Product Geometry Replication (GPGR) models of harness assemblies, wiring groups and related components.
- Create and conduct presentations for design concepts, design reviews and reports.
- Assist assembly, quality, harness manufacturers and other groups by providing diagnostic and troubleshooting support, creating drawing deviations and Advanced Change Notices.
- Develop and document best practices for harness creation, drawing accuracy and consistency for notes and views, engineering drawing checklists and cooperation with DCR team.
- Assist in training of assigned personnel or co-workers.
- Investigate new concepts and improvements for harness designs.
- Develop and maintain engine schematics in Creo.
Required Qualifications:
- 1 year of company experience.
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Electrical Engineering.
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience with CAD tools: Autocad, ProE, Creo, or other.
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience reading/developing electrical schematics.
- Experience with Microsoft Visio.
- Good communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Marine Engines
- Experience with EDS and TeamCenter
- Experience with Microsoft Visio
- Experience with Marine Classification Society requirements
