As a Manufacturing Engineer II you will be directly reporting into the Senior Manufacturing Engineer or Manufacturing Manager ensuring all manufacturing processes are run safely to schedule on 12 month contract.

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer II

Location: Wexford

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Day-to-day responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer II:
  • Initiates and leads the improvement of existing manufacturing processes interfacing with production and engineering groups in resolving problems encountered on the production floor.
  • Lean & Six Sigma Leader on site using the appropriate tools to demonstrate cost savings and process improvements
  • Project lead to continuously improve product, equipment, and fixture processes on the manufacturing line
  • Leading complex process validations, software validation and equipment validations
  • Leads and drives Equipment design, development and optimization for large complex equipment / first time equipment.
  • Perform engineering work: process/product improvements, test of materials, preparation of specifications, process study, evaluation of process models/process improvements, development improvement of equipment, tools, fixtures and report preparation
  • Interface with vendors and other outside specialists, maximize the cost benefit to the company by finding alternative and more cost effective suppliers or design shops.
  • Leads and owns Project plans, risk analysis project updates and Project implementation for more complex projects
  • Create Process FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis) from scratch, can also review, update and approve other process PFMEA's
  • Completion of Scheduling, Planning and review of project activities for large complex projects
  • Identify and Update revision of SOP's to reflect current practice
  • Creation and ownership of manufacturing and test method Documentation to reflect current practices
  • Can own large sections of a Product transfer activities to corporate standards.
  • Dealing with complaints investigations, CAPA investigations and Continuous Improvement activities to improve the product or process.
  • Prepares and submits for approval requests for large (>100k) project funding.
  • Plans and coordinates engineering test builds.
  • Prepares and presents oral and written project updates and technical discussions.
  • Mentor, coach and guide other engineers in their day to day projects and is seen as a potential senior engineer.


Skills & Attributes needed as the Manufacturing Engineer II:
  • Degree in Engineering or Master's degree in a technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 year's experience in an engineering role preferably within the medical device environment
  • Ability to make and present engineering decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Basic engineering cost analysis
  • Basic tooling and design and drafting knowledge
  • Analyse and optimize existing process and ability to create new processes
  • Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and have a good understanding of geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing.
