Job Description:
I am looking to recruit an Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Practitioner. You will join a busy team working on a number of programmes. I am looking for someone who has practical experience rather than management of ILS activities.
Your role will need you to contract with, and manage external suppliers for the delivery of ILS projects as well as develop proactive relationships with suppliers and support agencies. You will have manager and team leadership skills and must have the ability to write clearly and concisely. You need to be flexible in approach to work and have strong interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written. Some travel to client sites may be required.
The role requires the successful candidate to hold SC clearance and you will be supported in getting this if you do not already hold clearance. However you should check before applying that you are eligible for UK SC clearance.
In terms of skills you should have some or all of the following;
Essential:
- An Engineering background with a relevant degree or previous related experience.
- The ideal candidate will have 5 years or more ILS engineering experience
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Track record of successfully leading or managing a ILS project
- Managed ILS projects

Desirable:
- Obsolescence Management (tracking, reporting, writing TN's/making recommendations for replacement items).
- Ability to work with Design teams, Infrastructure teams, Security teams etc to suggest cost effective/functional replacements
- May also want to get them specifically responsible for; RMA, Repairs and tie this into DRACAS and updating fault analysis/spares modelling
- Broad spread of ARM&T skills, including both hardware and software
- Experience in the use of ILS Tools such as OmegaPS, Analyser, Isograph etc
- Knowledge of Software Design & Development.
- Experience of working with MoD and the Armed Services and knowledge of the approach to ILS detailed in AOF framework SSE
- Understanding of the processes and procedures for Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and/or Contractor Logistic Support (CLS) within the UK MOD domain
The ILS Manager will:
- Be able to work to high standard autonomously as the ILS lead in a project
- Take responsibility for the implementation of the ILS contractual requirements through all phases of the project ensuring any Reliability, Maintainability and Testability (RM&T) elements of each programme are completed in accordance with the requirements in the Statement of Work (SOW) or Sub-System Requirements Document (SSRD)
- Be responsible for the planning of ILS activities, scheduling, cost estimating and deliver in the agreed timescale
- Develop ILS strategies, tailoring the ILS/Support solution and produce proposal preparation in a military environment for a commercial company
- Have a good working knowledge and experience of Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) standards including DEF STAN 00-600, JSP886, MIL-STD-1388 2B, DEF STAN 00-40 and other related standards
- Develop and maintain ILS Reports, Plans and sub-plans
- Perform ILS analysis such as LORA, MTA, FMECA, DRACAS/FRACAS trend analysis
- Manage and populate of the Logistic Support Analysis Record
- Conduct spares modelling and spares recommendations
- Ensure that ILS considerations are included in the design and system design trade-off analyses
- Liaise with management, design engineers, supply chain management and cross-functional groups to ensure ILS requirements and data are captured and considered.
- Manage and face MoD customers & commercial customers and outside suppliers regarding all ILS aspects
