This exciting new vacancy is for an established global business, an innovative leader in their field; we are welcoming applications from experienced Senior Design Engineers, Design Managers, and R&D Engineers who have worked within Engineering on NPD projects.

The successful Senior Design Engineer will chiefly be responsible for the development, characterisation, optimisation, documentation and dissemination of any and all prototype and production processes required to produce next-generation, award-winning, force-sensing solutions to a variety of end markets.
  • This position will have overall hardware design ownership for all products
  • The products designed will be modules with electrical, mechanical, acoustical and potentially optical properties which need to be integrated in to the customer's system
  • The module integration engineer will work closely with the customer to define physical, material, functional and mechanical requirements of products
  • Conceives and plans projects involving definition and selection of new concepts, sensor designs, new materials, and new technologies in the development of new or improved designs, applications, and solutions
As a Senior Design Engineer, duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Work with customers to define specifications for products, covering mechanical and functional requirements
  • Manage design of mechanical elements of products to specification and within required timelines
  • Develop processes from R&D stage to a level suitable for mass production
  • Manage transfer of new processes to production
  • Work with production team in prototype and production phases to improve design and manufacturing processes as necessary to ensure products meet customer expectations
