Street Lighting Technician

Contract. Bathgate. 4 Months +. £100 - £200 per day

Description of Role

  • Carry out major and minor street lighting design, including schematic diagrams, electrical design calculations and bill of quantities, to current British Standards.
  • Assist in preparing and issuing contracts, Road Construction Consent process and checking developers designs comply with National and Council standards.
  • Respond to enquiries, complaints and information requests.

Essential Skills,
Competences, Experience and Relevant Qualifications

  • Full Driving Licence
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of Electrical and Lighting Engineering techniques.
  • Minimum educational requirement is to Higher National Certificate or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or other appropriate professional discipline.
  • Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database software and specialist computer software such as AutoCAD.

Desirable Skills

  • Registration with the Engineering Council at Engineering Technician (Eng Tech) level or above.
  • Experience of Street Lighting design and maintenance and knowledge of current electrical wiring regulations.
  • Working knowledge of H & S legislation and demonstrate a high degree of understanding relating to frontline risk management.
  • Experience in local government and/or knowledge of local government working practices.
