Description

Corporate Communications Manager with immediate availability to start required for initial 3 month contract with public sector client in Edinburgh.

Duties will include:

Internal -

  • Develop and implement Communication Plans in support of the Communications Strategy and associated projects.
  • Manage the Brand to maintain standards on content, presentation, audience and language in all communications with staff.
  • Provide a professional editing and writing service.

Web -

  • Ensure communications are clear, persuasive, accessible and enhance the corporate reputation.
  • Engage and manage external contractors when required.
  • Develop use of current digital communication channels, and identify appropriate new ones.

General -

  • Deliver and manage the corporate communication functions with particular responsibility for the web, Intranet and screen network.
  • Manage, develop and support the eCommunications Manager and the Video Manager and their teams, to ensure that they are reaching their full potential.
  • Compile effective business cases to support the communication functions.
  • Identify budgetary requirements, prepare bids and manage within budgetary limits.
  • Provide professional communications advice to the Executive Management team, Board and Ministers.
  • Keep abreast of political and technical developments and maintain skill levels.
  • Substitute for the Head of Communications and the Customer Communications Manager when required.

Experience required:

  • To be educated to degree level and/or have relevant experience and proven track record within a communications environment.
  • First-class written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of managing and delivering internal communications and evaluating their effectiveness.
  • Experience of managing eCommunication functions and development projects.
  • Experience of managing multi-channel campaigns.
  • A proven track record of managing and delivering corporate communications at a senior level.
  • Experience of successful delivery of change and engagement communications.
  • Experience of successfully managing staff
  • Experience of stakeholder management, evaluation and working with eCommunications.

Candidates MUST be available to start in early December.

Candidates will be required to either already hold a valid Disclosure Scotland certificate or be willing and able to apply for one prior to CV submittal.
