Description

Bright & Shiny, a distributed software agency with clients large, small, and in-between (Airbnb, publically traded biotech firms, small startups and non-profits, among others) is desperately seeking a talented and diligent QA engineer to perform ongoing tests for its existing customer products, as well as help us build and test new products.

You'll be working with Bob, our crack QA engineer, an Activision veteran with tens of years of QA experience under his (black) belt. The day to day will involve running (and helping to design and improve) existing test plans, and possibly some automation. We need you to be an advocate for the client, telling developers to shut up and do their job when they start whining about fixing bugs. Testing will mostly be manual with an eye towards making sure that existing mature products do not regress during ongoing development.

We are quality focused and deadline driven, and you should be willing to put up with a distributed team that is overly fond of animated gifs and emoji. We use industry standard tools from Atlassian (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Hipchat, etc.), Dropbox and Google Hangouts for collaboration (please have a camera and a rock solid internet connection.)

Footnote:
Master chefs? Yeah maybe, but we all know who really makes things happen in the kitchen. It's the guys/gals that they're yelling at. We don't tolerate yelling at Bright & Shiny, except maybe when we release a particularly awesome project ahead of schedule. But we'll always give you a heads up so you can cover your ears.
