Infrastructure Support Manager - 3 month contract. Market rates. Peterborough. Immediate start!European client requires an Infrastructure Support Manager to take responsibility for the running of 2 data centres, LAN and WAN provision, physical and virtual servers, multiple MS SQL instances and monitoring and planning software. You will also responsibility for their 24x7 callout process, the IS teams change control function and supplier management working closely with their technical project teams to design and transition new service delivery and service changes.
As the Infrastructure Support Manager you will have several years commercial experience leading a similar sized technical team supporting complex environments. Although not hands on, you will have in-depth knowledge of the technologies in use and those that their technical project team are recommending they move to. Your track record will demonstrate commitment to building and maintaining a high level of customer service, with the ability to manage and motivate a technical team dealing with complex customer issues across a broad range of technical subjects.
The Infrastructure Support Manager you will have previous experience of capacity planning & change control, significant technical experience in detailed infrastructure support, strong Active Directory and Windows Server ) skills, trouble-shooting experience of virtualisation technologies (preferably Hyper-V) configuration and management of MS Exchange (2010 onwards), comprehensive knowledge of MS SQL Server 2008 & 2012, LAN and WAN design, optimisation and diagnostics, HP server hardware support and optimisation, HP storage area network design, installation, configuration and support, Cisco Networking installation, configuration and support, (Routers, Switches, Wireless), firewall monitoring, IPS, DoS prevention and Disaster recovery and resilience.
Any experience of the following is advantageous to this Infrastructure Support Manager role:-VoIP Implementation and support, MS Exchange Implementation and planning, Active Directory design, SCOM and Data centre design.
