We are looking for a Construction Manager in CA,
Location: San Jose, CA
Duration: 6 months+
Start: 2 -3 weeks
This is an FTTx CM, (not a Wireless CM.)
Scope of Work :
The Construction Manager is accountable for scheduling and management of activities and personnel from Client and our suppliers in the safe deployment of our technical solution.
The Construction Manager directly supervises implementation services including Network Design, Site Acquisition, Civil Works, Installation, Integration services, adherence to safety practices and close out documentation.
The Construction Manager reports to the Customer Project Manager in the project team and interfaces with the end customer, 3rd party suppliers as well as other Client functions such as Supply & Logistics, Sourcing and Operations/Field Services.
This assignment is to manage FTTx implementation activities utilizing multiple construction techniques, cable technologies and engineering methodologies.
Responsibilities:
Agreed Civil Works guidelines and schedules are followed and enforced.
Attend coordination and progress meetings
Awareness and on-site supervision during where risk of disturbances in customer site performance is high.
Check that the working environment is maintained at an acceptable level, carry out safety inspections and ensure that tools, etc. are in good working condition.
Civil Works problem solving as required during the project.
Coordinates site activities and assures that all disciplines directly involved in the project are in phase with the Project goals and objectives.
Drive scheduled activities and trouble-shooting results.
Ensure that Service Providers and vendors/suppliers meet all the technical specifications with respect to Client and customer specifications.
Ensure workmanship quality of the installations done by the Service Providers is within the Contract, Client standards and Customer expectations.
Ensure all Client, Federal, Local, and customer safety guidelines and construction procedures are enforced during the entire Civil Works phase of the project.
Perform the following tasks:
o Site pre-inspections and coordinate post-construction audits. o Site verification. o Visual inspection of quality on site.
Prepares regular interval progress reports as required by the project
Provide accurate status information on the progress to project management.
Ensure that project budgets are adhered to and protected.
Provide technical assistance to the Service Providers and any other suppliers that provide services associated with the Civil Works activities.
Reject wrong deliveries of material to site.
Manage and report bad performance and quality on site.
Responsible for the proper interpretation and compliance of the civil design plans.
Supervise, coordinate and monitor works with the Service Providers and other disciplines that have an interface with the Civil Works part of the project.
Ensure that turnover documentation is complete, accurate and aligns with all standards, specifications and processes.
Inspect work and approve for final invoice submittal.
Team leadership focusing on quality and results.
Write claims, order and return materials.
Skills/Experience Required:
Proficient computer experience (especially Excel - ability to generate, work in, manipulate, etc. spreadsheets for Project deliverables)
Working directly in databases (ie CAM/EAMS, SiteHandler)
Interpersonal communication skills
