Description

Role - Data Business Analyst

Location - Coventry

Required:

  • High Level understanding and working knowledge of the products and services used within a Building Society (Mortgages, Savings, Current Accounts, Payments & Cash Management, Covered Bonds, etc)
  • Good understanding of Operations, Risk and Finance procedures used within the Financial Services Industry
  • Significant experience working on complex Management Information (MI) Transformation Programmes, including corporate data mapping (from Legacy platforms)
  • Experience of working on large complex business and IT transformation/change programmes
  • Experience working on data projects, such as customer migration/data conversions, data cleansing, with the associated detailed business analysis skills to support these
  • Experience of working with a Data Warehouse
  • Ability to assess complex issues and risks and translate them into clear action plans for resolution
  • Good interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills, with the ability to communicate persuasively with front-line staff
  • Good stakeholder management skills with ability to question and challenge, put forward new ideas and gain buy in through key working relationships
  • Willingness to ask questions and challenge where appropriate and delivering potentially challenging messages back to the front-line
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Some experience in one or more of the following technologies:
  • IBM CDC/CDD; Netezza PureData; SAS Analytics; MS-Access
  • Cognos, Crystal Reporting; Business Objects

Ability to use the following systems (Required):

  • Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint software packages
  • Business Mapping processes software such as Microsoft Visio
  • Strong Excel skills

Key activities that the candidate should have experience of, will include:

  • Working with Business representatives and stakeholders to identify and document:
  • Understand prioritisation of report delivery and identify reports that are no longer required
  • Support production of business requirement specifications for Business Change and IT
  • Build a high level Entity Relationship diagram, capturing key attributes for the data
  • Assist in the testing of the new reporting environment and associated MI & Reporting Packs
  • Engage end users and coordinate activities around User Acceptance Testing
  • Help the business with the definition and development of their new reports
  • Help the business with the implementation of their data quality rules, business rule and models
  • Support the definition of the necessary governance and Operating Model (including the necessary security) to support successful report delivery.
