Communications Manager - Victoria Street - Contract role

A high profile banking client is currently looking to recruit a Communications Manager within their Corporate Communications department in their offices on Victoria Street.

As a communications Manager you will be responsible for all PR activity, both at a corporate level and each of its boutiques, in Europe, Middle East and Africa. It aims to communicate key news to all its stakeholders at the right time in a coherent, credible and ethical manner. The team member acts as a point of contact with media within the EMEA region.

In addition, as a member of the EMEA Corporate Communications Team you will support both the Associate Director and Head of Corporate Communications to:
-Execute the communication strategy and PR vision for EMEA;
-Create a selling environment via the media for sales, marketing and redemption activities by maintaining a level of targeted high-level positive media coverage commensurate with the EMEA business' size; and
-Build the brand (ie campaigns) via a proactive public relations programme and actively protect the company from adverse media comment.

Responsibilities of a Communications Manager:
*Ensure that communications and PR are Embedded as a key component of sales and marketing campaigns in line with key fund priorities.
*Proactively manage the day-to-day PR activity for assigned:
- Boutiques;
- Specific UK sales areas; and
- International regions.
*Provide counsel regarding the communications strategy for funds and fund managers, message development and reputational risk.
*Help execute an effective internal communications strategy, through various platforms to converse with EMEA staff.
*Help to promote a best in class Corporate Communications function for EMEA by creating and maintaining operating practices.
*Develop a deep understanding of the business, its boutiques and key people within them.
*Produce monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reporting for stakeholders, highlighting past and upcoming media coverage
*Manage a continual PR programme to generate high-level media coverage, as agreed with the Associate Director and Head of Corporate Communications for EMEA support in the counselling and management of crisis issues and ensure business continuity in relation to funds and fund managers, as they arise.
*Collaborate with marketing teams and sales across the EMEA business, to support long-term product campaigns, as agreed with the Corporate Communications function head for EMEA.
*Support investment managers and key spokespeople in engaging with the online and offline media.
*Develop and maintain strong and positive relationships internally and externally, including journalists from across the media spectrum within the EMEA region.
*Help ensuring Corporate Communications provide a value-add service internally and externally, this includes continual PR agency and adviser management.
*Provide regular reporting to senior management, sales and marketing, to increase connectivity and transparency of the Corporate Communications function.
*Ensure the Corporate Communications function for EMEA adheres to regulatory and compliance requirements, supported by the Compliance Director, EMEA.

Job Specific Competencies:

*Fluency in European languages, such as French or German essential
*Proven experience with institutional PR preferred

Technical Skills, Knowledge, Systems Knowledge:
*Previous experience in financial services public relations is essential, ideally in asset management.
*Talented PR specialist, who is results driven with to the ability to execute an effective corporate communications plan. Requires:
-Knowledge of media within the UK and ideally in Europe, Middle East and Africa; and
-Existing relationships with institutional/wholesale trade and personal finance journalists is essential in the UK, and ideally internationally.
*Excellent communicator with experience in stakeholder relationship management, both internally and externally.
*Ability to run proactive media relations programmes to generate targeted positive high-level media coverage.
*Excellent writing skills.
*Experience to actively manage PR agencies in the UK and Europe to ensure value-add.
*Experience in various crisis management issues to minimise reputational damage
*Experience in event management and running proactive campaigns.
*Ability to deliver effective internal communications platforms across a business.
