Description

My client is a market leading Automotive/Avation business focusing on the design and development of complex components. They are seeking the services of an experienced Electronics Manager with good safety critical knowledge and excellent theoretical understanding.

Engineering Manager - 60-70k+ DOE Nottingham

Purpose:

Lead the activities and operations of the Electronics team through assigning, coordinating, reviewing, and participating directly in development programmes or functional initiatives.

Develop, implement and continuously improve the standards, policies and procedures for all work performed in the Electronics engineering department.

Job Scope:

- Provide leadership and day-to-day management for individuals within the UK Electronics Engineering group.

- Establish vision and direction for the Electronics Department. Provide guidance and role model for all staff under supervision. Act as a mentor to staff providing constructive feedback and coaching. Foster team spirit, pride and group identity.

- Exercise authority in hiring, training, career development, performance appraisal, salary adjustments, promotion, discipline, health, safety and the general employee relations of direct reports.

- Demonstrate service excellence to both internal and external customers by focusing directly on identification and satisfaction of their needs. Specific emphasis to be placed in support of development programme teams.

- Anticipate, research and acquire enhancements in department technology with the objective of increasing efficiency, reducing cost, and/or enhancing capabilities.

-Responsible for the department's contribution to the Company's technology roadmap.

- Develop, implements and continuously improves policies, standards and procedures for all work performed in the department.

- Plan, organize, direct and control the activities and operations of the department team.

- Responsible for on time delivery and quality of output.

- Actively participate as a member of the appropriate management team(s), assisting with the development and realization of departmental strategic plans, budgets, goals and outcomes.

- Oversee and approve the technical output of the department to ensure that it is technically sound and in compliance with all internal and external regulatory standards.

- May participate directly in the design and development activities of programmes or in the department itself.

Skills/Experience:

- University degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent qualification.

- Working knowledge of Hardware development in accordance with ISO26262

- Registration as Chartered Engineer preferred.

- Excellent planning, organisational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision-making, problem-solving, oral and written communication skills.- Extensive experience in an engineering discipline, including supervisory experience
