Pebblebee is a tech lab that builds small, fun, and helpful gadgets. We are young, still a startup with 15 goofy but way smart engineers making the products, a small support staff, and myself, the sole marketer trying to keep up with these crazy people. You can find our website here, www.pebblebee.com. So far we have built 4 products in a year and a half and show no signs of slowing down. Now that our customer base is growing, these new gadgets require a hefty schedule of content to help them understand and get the most out of our products.Pebblebee is in search of a freelance copywriter to write for our blog, which has yet to go live. The subject of this blog will be focused on being a complementary solution to the service our product provides, examples being, how to not lose your keys, life hacks for your home, how to stay safe when you are alone, etc. Other topics will be sprinkled like customer success stories and anything else we determine our customers would be interested in hearing. You will be writing ~3 articles per week. Can discuss details.
Some of this will be technical writing and requires the ability to be able to boil it down and explain it in a meaningful way to those who normally wouldn't understand. Most the articles we will want written in an entertaining tone or creative presentation to make the dry content engaging and impactful.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of professional experience in a copywriter / blogger role
- have experience writing B2C blogs/articles (with samples to show), having begun a blog for a company would be big ++
- be flexible about content schedule
- have a comfortable conversational writing style, with a tendency to lean on humor as a delivery method
- be an effective communicator
- able to understand and present consumer tech for non-techies
- be able to work offsite/remotely from your own computer
I would like to have a trial week where we pay you for your work while we brainstorm together a style we both like. After which if we are both excited, This will be an offsite ongoing, part-time freelance project. If we are not both 100%, then you will have gotten a week of fun paid work. Thank you!
