Senior Project Engineer Location: Gwynedd, Wales Working hours: 37 hours per week - Monday - Thursday Salary: £437.50 LTD Per Day Contract Duration: Until 26th of March 2016

Our client, a nuclear power site is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to provide fit for purpose engineering solutions for complex projects and ensure that design authority standards and configuration control are applied appropriately.

Your responsibilities will include;

  • Providing complex engineering solutions to higher profile projects.
  • Identifying project functional requirements and stakeholder needs for assigned project.
  • Managing engineering support to the project.
  • Contributing to production of Project Execution Plans including design, safety case and commissioning strategies.
  • Supporting project optioneering process.
  • Developing concept design and fit for purpose engineering solution for projects.
  • Producing and/or approve project technical specifications.
  • Managing detailed design activities in accordance with design authority standards.
  • Preparing modification proposals as required, acting as Nominated Responsible Engineer where appointed.
  • Carrying out technical assessment/approval of contractors work instruction/method statements/risk assessments.
  • Providing technical supervision of construction/deconstruction activities to ensure compliance with design intent.
  • Approving as built drawings.
  • Specifying and providing technical supervision of commissioning and/or decommissioning.
  • Managing hand over to systems/operations ensuring that all drawings, instructions and training have been supplied as required.
  • Liaising and consulting with system engineer and other stakeholders throughout project life cycle.
  • Maintaining site configuration control throughout project life cycle.
  • Reviewing on site and off site events and root cause analysis to promote improved working practices.
  • Contributing to the effective development and delivery of training within own area of specialism.
  • Deputising for Section Head when required.
  • Undertaking emergency scheme duties if required.

The successful candidate will possess;

  • Degree or NQF level 6 qualified or equivalent.
  • Membership of an engineering institution.
  • Chartered Status.
  • Experience within a disciplined Engineering role.
  • Nuclear and Project Engineering experience.
  • Project Delivery experience.
  • Knowledge of the Safety Rules, risk assessment methodology, CDM Designer role, and contract management is desirable.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of relevant Company and/or National Engineering standards, Site Licence and Quality Management System requirements.
