Description

Some of the day-to-day duties include:
  • Creates, obtains agreement and implements the configuration management policy and standards
  • Agree the scope of the configuration management process, function, controlled items and information to be recorded
  • Complete the live project to deliver additional Configuration Item (CI) classes and work with technical teams to source the data to populate new CI classes.
  • Develop configuration management standards, plans and procedures (process, tool, maintenance, upgrades, etc.)
  • Ensure that changes to the configuration management methods and processes are approved and communicated
  • Manage the population of the configuration management system (authorize addition/removal of CI classes) and ensure regular housekeeping
  • Perform audits of the system and take corrective action as necessary
  • Ensure integrity, data quality and audit-ability of the Configuration Management System
  • Run, monitor and action discrepancy reports
  • Provide management information about Configuration Management quality and operations including status accounting and reporting


Essential Skills:
  • Knowledge and experience maintaining a Configuration Management System
  • Experience of working in an ITIL-based environment using an IT Service Management system.
  • Demonstrates extensive experience of working in a customer-focused environment
  • Experience in managing workload and priorities without supervision.
  • Planning and coordination skills
  • Analytical and problem solving capabilities
  • Experience communicating and dealing with varying levels of management
  • Proven experience of working in a multi-national organization with a global customer base
  • Proven experience of delivering service in an IT operational environment
  • Fluent in business English language - written and verbal.


"Good to Have"
  • Experience with LANDesk, as a service management tool an advantage
  • Experience with FrontRange as an asset and license management tool an advantage


Education and Qualifications
  • Degree educated or experience-led equivalent
  • ITIL Configuration Management Practitioner certification
  • 5+ years' experience within IT / Customer Services environment
