Description

An exciting opportunity for an Internal Communications Manager is available within this leading E-commerce company. The position reports to the Head of Internal Communications and is part of the wider Communications department.

You role will be to partner with the IT & HR departments, acting as a dedicated resource for that area, working with them to define their key messages, implement and measure internal communications plans and engage their people in ongoing conversation about important issues. Additionally, to provide information to the communications team about the initiatives coming up from within the main business areas.

Your specific accountabilities will include;

  • To support the Head of IC by applying change comms best practice to the planning and delivery of specific airline wide transformational change programmes.
  • To support key senior management in the delivery of their key business objectives by providing;
  • strategic advice on the most appropriate and best practice methods for delivery of key message
  • excellent writing/editing support to shape messages and align with business goals and strategy
  • information about initiatives in other parts of easyJet or that may have an impact on their requirements
  • evaluation and measurement of communications activities

To support and help deliver a two way communication and engagement plan for M&A that involves the management of the division in the communication process

To proactively develop positive relationships with all relevant stakeholders - eg senior management teams, Project Leads, Communications, Marketing and HR etc

To provide key information to ensure that M&A areas are appropriately represented and reflected within easyJet's network-wide internal communications tools and forums

Suitable candidates will need to have the following skills/experience;

  • Proven experience in either Internal or External Communications Manager capacity
  • A creative thinker who can develop and implement ideas in line with airline culture
  • Experience of acting as a 'communications consultant' with an understanding of how to define business driven, results oriented internal communications plans either in an agency or in-house
  • Experience of working closely with senior management and influential stakeholders
  • Confident, articulate with excellent listening skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good presenter - able to make recommendations with gravitas and inspire confidence in others
  • Assertive and able to deal with difficult people and situations
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills; good project manager
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to create event concept papers/proposals from scratch; strong writing skills
  • Ability to deal with pressure, cope with large workload, multi-skill and juggle
  • Ability to deal with conflicting agendas and fluctuating priorities
  • Practical, tenacious, resilient, energetic and enthusiastic
  • IT literate and able to use Microsoft Windows, Excel, Powerpoint, Word etc
  • Social media experience
  • Experience in managing events
  • Familiarity with the airline or transport industry would be advantageous
  • Fluency in a European language would be useful but is not essential
