HARDWARE ENGINEER

SALARY: £40K

My client is one of the premier fire detection and control panel manufacturers in the world. As they seek to further expand the worldwide distribution of their product, they are looking to expand their world-class engineering team.

These are essential skills:
  • Broad experience in analogue and digital design at system, product and circuit level.
  • OrCAD Schematic capture including high speed interface (NAND, QDR, DDR) techniques
  • Microcontrollers / Embedded Systems: Atmel, STM32, bit, ARM Core.
  • SPI, I2C, Ethernet, I2S, DAC, ADC, USB, UART, RS232, RS485.
  • EMC and Signal Integrity: impedance matching, decoupling strategy, PCB layout and design debug.
  • Strong CPLD or FPGA design experience using VHDL or Verilog
  • Experience with firmware-hardware interface development and integration.


The below are desirable skills:
  • PCB stack-ups for impedance control, fabrication drawings.
  • Multi-layer PCB design and FPGA design, synthesis, place & route, verification and simulation
  • CE, UL & EN54: Fire detection and fire alarm systems standards
  • ISO9001 Quality Practices


Analogue is very important at this company, so to is PCB routing, PCB layout and PCB schematic flow.

Hands-on hardware engineers welcomed. Someone who is self-motivated with a broad knowledge of electrics and electronics.
