Description

My client who are leading name in the energy and Utility sector are currently looking for a site manage to join them. This is a rare opportunity to join one of the UK's market leaders in district heating, and to have all the freedom and autonomy you need to shape its future.

Role:

This is a Site Manager role with a difference. We design and install large scale district heating networks into city centres and suburban areas to supplying existing industrial, commercial and residential properties, as well as designing and building district heating solutions for new housing developments. This is a new and fast-growing part of our business, which makes it a fantastic opportunity to take your construction career to the next level.

Based on site, you'll align your project with the highest safety, health, environmental and technical quality standards and ensure that it's on track and on time. It's a role that will involve supporting the Project Delivery Manager with sub-contractors and suppliers, and developing positive relationships with clients and contractors.

In terms of your day-to-day responsibilities, you can expect to be involved with all construction activity including everything from preparing short-term look-ahead work programmes through to driving the project's ongoing efficiency and effectiveness. We'll also need you to make sure we always meet our regulatory and legislative responsibilities. At the same time, you'll identify and record any problem areas or complaints, making sure these are swiftly resolved and monitoring the progress and performance of our internal and external service providers.

Experience:

  • A relevant engineering qualification and an SSSTS or NEBOSH certificate.
  • A good knowledge of all relevant safety legislation, including the Electricity at Work Act, HASAWA and TMA - you'll also have a extensive experience in CDM.
  • An appropriate CSCS card.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, including the ability to negotiate with others to ensure the most effective delivery of the programme.
  • Good stakeholder management and communication skills - you'll be able to build productive relationships with senior managers and staff; contractors and customers.
  • Plenty of enthusiasm, and a proactive approach to problem solving.
