Our client are seeking a Medic / Physician - preferably GMC registered that has a good balance of Global Clinical Development and Global Medical Affairs.The start date is March 2016
*The role is Global and it will report into the Executive Medical Director
*Our client are recruiting for a contractor only - Medical Director of Clinical Development in the GI therapy area with GMC registration.
*The role is for 6 months.
*The role focuses on EU, US and AsiaPac - Global role - Global experience is essential
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
*Extensive Global Clinical Development and Global Medical Affairs experience in the speciality / ethical pharmaceutical industry.
*Fully accredited Pharmaceutical Physician on the specialist register of the GMC. (preferred)
*In depth knowledge of UK, European and Global pharmaceutical business with regard to Due Diligence, Clinical Development Strategy, Medical Affairs, Market Access Publications, Marketing Support and KOL management.
*MBA Qualification would be advantageous
REQUIREMENTS:
Clinical Development, Medical marketing along with one or more of the following therapeutic areas:
Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Haematology, Rheumatology, Dermatology, Cardiology, Surgical Oncology, Urology, General Surgery, Pharmaceutical Medicine.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THIS ROLE:
*Experienced Medic with experience in Clinical Development and Medical Affairs at a Global level.
*At least 5 years' experience in GI or related TA
*Has previous experience overseeing Clinical Studies in early phase (preferably in GI)and has overseen PV Audits / regulatory submissions on clinical trials.
*Previous responsibilities such as 'Raw Launch' / Early Phase Clinical Science
*Experience writing Clinical Development Programmes
*Previous Global Strategic experience i.e. launch team, countries budget and business plans
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- The Medical Director will lead and drive strategy for the regional and global clinical development taking into consideration the medical, scientific, regulatory and commercial issues for assigned pipeline compounds.
- Ideally the Medic that comes on board will have demonstrated abilities in Leading a multi-disciplinary, multi-regional, matrix team through highly complex decisions.
- This individual will have the ultimate responsibility for development decisions assessing and integrating the input from various disciplines to create, maintain, and execute a regional/global clinical development plan that will result in the regulatory approval of the assigned compound in multiple regions.
- The Medic will apply clinical/medical decision making to clinical development issues. This individual will interact and influence senior leadership decision-making for the projects by setting strategic direction.
