Senior Privacy Officer - Digital - Personal Data - Data Protection - Compliance - Data Governance - Audience Data

Our well known digital broadcast client requires a Lead Privacy Officer to work within the Data Management Team to help implement this vision. The Data Management Team works to make the management of personal data (including user profile, user activity and content data). It is responsible for driving clear data handling policies and processes through the concept, feasibility and delivery stages of the project life cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead privacy by design process, defining privacy policies for personalision, turning them into practical rules of the road and online solutions for digital product teams
  • Ensuring data protection compliance in service design by supporting digital product teams to develop Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) to assess and mitigate risks
  • Communicating the privacy approach to wider teams to support consistent and compliant standards
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders such as Data Protection Legal, Digital Legal and Information Security on relevant changes
  • Update, where relevant, the Privacy and Cookie Policies to accommodate changes as part of a redesign of the corporate web site
  • Working with Data Management and Marketing colleagues on data quality, insight and analytics

Required Skills

  • Proven experience working in a data protection compliance role that involves the practical delivery of privacy into digital service design
  • Understanding of the digital, media and broadcast environment
  • Understanding of key data protection legislation, and an awareness of upcoming regulatory changes
  • Experience of leading and managing teams with experience drafting privacy policies, and practical guides to implement these policies, in an online environment
  • Experience of communicating and influencing to build strong networks and relationships, internally and externally
  • Understanding of data governance processes
  • Certified in the field of privacy eg CIPP, CIPT, CIPM highly desired
