Description

Support the Radio Frequency (RF) team in designing and optimizing a network with focus on RF coverage and quality
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Create Radio Frequency (RF) Propagation, LTE/UMTS RF propagation studies and simulations.
  • Support the new site build process by providing RF feedback wherever necessary. This includes: Creation of Technical approval packages (supported by Design and Optimization KPI), supporting the need of sites to the national team; Search ring target explanation to site acquisition contractors; Candidate assessment against coverage goals and company design KPI; Site visit and understanding of RF Quality impact of construction constraints; Construction drawings verification regarding aspects influencing RF performance (RAD center, shadowing, antenna choices and isolation, TMA/RRH, etc.); Reporting progress issue to other engineers and present issues to management; Supporting data management and process improvement including RF Data Sheet related information flow and systems; Also, the contractor needs to be fluent at interfacing with Optimization in coordinated performance improvement efforts requiring both Design and Optimization techniques; Construction drawings verification regarding aspects influencing RF performance; Be point of contact for questions about merging site configuration constraints
Education
  • BSEE in Electrical Engineering or equivalent by experience
SKILLS:

Experience and Skills
  • Deep understanding/experience of RF design, including site design, antenna pattern choices, model tuning and limitations, Monte-Carlo simulations
  • Deep understanding/experience of site implementation constraints, including quality vs. implementability, construction and site acquisition interactions, candidate identification, site design options for flagpoles or stealth sites
  • Use of planning tools (Atoll, Planet or other), and automated cell tuning tools (ACP)
  • Strong communication skills and knowledge of Microsoft Suites
  • Knowledge of low sites/oDAS deployments and limitations is a plus
  • Experience in RF Optimization and parameter tuning is a plus
  • Intermediate RF Propagation Tool experience required
