Commissioning Engineer (132KV, 275KV and 400KV)
Hydrogen Group have an excellent opportunity with an integrated, full service Engineering & Construction company based in Scotland.
The organisation is a market leader in the design, construction and commissioning of Electrical Transmission & Distribution systems.
They have a requirement for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join their team on a Contract basis.
The role will be responsible for the Construction and Commissioning of HV plant and protection control systems at transmission voltages (132KV, 275KV and 400KV).
Initially working on projects in southern Scotland, the company can also offer exposure to key infrastructure projects UK wide, through their wider end-user client base.
Requirements:

  • Technical expert, able to oversee commissioning works to ensure capital programme is safe and fit for purpose.
  • Authorised Person at (132KV, 275KV and 400KV).
  • Min 5 years experience as a Primary network Commissioning Engineer

Responsibilities to include:

  • Commissioning Management - including Commissioning Planning, Design Reviews Protection Schemes and Diagnose network faults and propose modifications
  • Commissioning Apparatus - Testing of Transformer, Switchgear, Earthing Systems and Interlocking Commissioning Testing etc.
  • Protection Commissioning - Diagnose problems and propose modifications to scheme design to provide desired operability
  • Protection manage to plans, manages and coordinates the programme of commissioning work testing and plant acceptance testing
  • At design reviews working with Engineering Design, Asset Management, contractor and supplier experts, seeks to innovate and drive improvements in design and practises
  • During commissioning testing and often for networks faults, the post holder diagnoses problems and proposes modifications to scheme design to provide desired operability

The successful candidate must be able to undertake complex work in an adverse site environment.
The candidate will have the ability to demonstrate a co-operative and team based approach, so as to achieve overall business objectives.
Excellent communication skills to support and influence stakeholders is required.
