Senior Product Manager

Are you a Senior Product Manager with an insurance background who has experience of business change and implementation coupled with the ability to lead a team and excellent stakeholder management skills?

My client is offering a unique opportunity to work on a high profile business change project heading up a small team based in London with an excellent daily rate for the right candidate. This is an initial six month contract for a hands on manager who can hit the ground running and inspire confidence in all areas of the business.

What are your main responsibilities?
  • Act as a senior source of professional expertise and have principal accountability for the management and/or development of a product/channel or significant segment thereof whilst supporting strategy development
  • Assist in the development and manage the implementation of medium term plans for Product category in the context of the strategic direction, taking into account the business, commercial ,market ,customer advocacy and regulatory context.
  • Engage stakeholders in order to influence key business decisions.
  • Drive business performance through the generation of insightful information, using this to design and deliver customer focused products and experience.
  • Build and maintain internal and external networks to optimise business results.
  • Deliver agreed initiatives to achieve continuous improvement to products and processes for the benefit of our customers.
  • Review, evaluate and mitigate potential risks.


What experience will you need?
  • Expert knowledge of the insurance market, demonstrating clear understanding of customer, market and pricing trends.
  • Track record of putting the customer at the heart of the business, working with Products partners to develop customer led products that provide a compelling reason to buy, and achieve channel P&L goals.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills. Uses appropriate techniques to negotiate with, and influence, internal and external individuals and groups to accept ideas, products or services, or to reach agreement.
  • Proven ability to manage risk effectively, take calculated risks and implement appropriate and commercial mitigation strategies.
  • Proven ability to drive for new and innovative ways of meeting customer needs.
  • Proven ability to manage across the breadth of the Balanced Scorecard, managing with appropriate weighting each of the component parts.
  • Is emotionally resilient in difficult situations.
  • Knows self deeply and understands impact on others and influences accordingly.
