A Renewable Energy client is currently looking for a Construction Co-ordinator to work on their offshore wind farm project. The Construction Co-ordinator will report to and support the Offshore Site Manager (OSM) and Deputy Offshore Site Manager (DOSM) with the management of the site establishment and works Co-ordinator for the Offshore Site. The Construction Co-ordinator will be an experienced manager within offshore wind farm construction. This is a 12 month freelance contract. Our client is looking for the Construction Co-ordinator to be able to start ASAP, flexible working hours will be essential and it is expected that the Construction Co-ordinator will work a shift rotation including offshore and early/late shifts.

Responsibilities:
  • The Construction Co-ordinator will be required to attend daily and weekly meetings with OSM/DOSM.
  • Co-ordinate onshore/offshore installation of foundations, turbine 132/33kV
  • Substation and inter-turbine cables through the project PTW system and offshore access controls with the primary focus on Health & Safety
  • Reviewing and accepting on behalf of the PC all risk assessments/Method Statements (RAMS). This will involve detailed understanding of the onshore/offshore construction works for an offshore wind farm and the ability to adapt and modify RAMS submissions to reflect the daily changing circumstances that can occur
  • To support the Principal Contractor and Contractor construction management teams in the execution of their roles
  • Provide defined construction reports
  • Raising alerts to any trend relating to HSE risks or transgressions developing onshore/offshore as they arise. Early Warning etc
  • Instructing Contractors to stop works for immediate health and safety and protection of environment reasons
  • Identify and notify immediately any issues that may arise or have potential to arise during the course of the works and will provide assistance in resolving any issues
Qualifications:
  • Experience in a similar role in offshore renewables
  • Excellent understanding of marine management, construction practices, heavy lifting and HV commissioning
  • High level safety qualifications such as NEBOSH would be an advantage
  • Understanding of the appointed rolls under CDM (2015) and Health & Safety requirements
  • Must be computer literate in MS Office, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills, must be able to communicate effectively within the team
  • Excellent oral and written English
  • Must be prepared to work offshore (transfer by ship and helicopter, working at sea for several days when required
