Description
Our client is looking for a Virtualisation Engineer to join their team until the end of 2016 based in Erskine, near Glasgow.
The Virtualisation Specialist (VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V) should have hands-on design experience utilising tools and techniques for Cloud, Open-stack, HP and other technologies. These designs will deliver solutions to multiple clients of national interest.
Core Skills and Experience
* Extensive technical knowledge of virtualisation technologies at large scale
* Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments
* Automation using Windows PowerShell & PowerCLI
* VMware VCP, Microsoft MCSA or similar applicable certification
* Excellent written and oral communication and technical documentation skills
* Self-motivated and strong organisational skills
Desirable Skills and Experience
* System architecture of large scale deployments
* Technical knowledge of HP hardware
* Experience with technologies:
Windows Server 2008 and 2012
Active Directory, GPO, DNS and DHCP
MS SQL, System Center 2012
SAN Storage
Cloud Technologies
* Understanding of BCV sections of ITIL Processes
* Experience working in a customer driven environment
