SEO Manager

Start: ASAP

Rate: £350PD
Location: Covent Garden

Purpose of the Job:

*The SEO Manager is responsible for ensuring the success of the SEO
*It sits with the wider Financial Services Marketing team and works closely with colleagues in the different product divisions and teams
*They will manage external agencies, apply their own expertise and co-ordinate with internal teams to achieve improved UK rankings for relevant search terms.
*The hard metric for the success of their work is an increase in site visitors and sales from the natural search channel.
*Co-ordinating with the Group SEO Manager is a key part of this role; that individual has a stewardship role over the website and all SEO activity and the final say on any contentious SEO issues.

Main Duties:

*The SEO Manager will be the internal voice of SEO, applying their expertise and experience to ensure internal projects meet SEO best practice and maximise the opportunity to excel in the natural search channel.
*They will be accountable for the success of campaigns in SEO and their integration with wider content marketing and social media activity managed by colleague and agencies.
*They will attend internal and partner meetings and advise on specific SEO issues during projects and during the business-as-usual activities of a busy, multi-product organisation.
*They will work with technical teams, product owners, marketing, the social media team, the content team and other stakeholders.
*A major part of this role is managing the day-to-day work of external agency(s) who are carrying out SEO work onsite and offsite for the client, as well as co-ordinating with other members of the digital teams and their agency(s) on topics including integrated search strategy and reporting, analytics and analysis, campaign planning, site content, content marketing, social media and other topics.
*Experience of digital transformation projects and content management systems is an advantage.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required:

*A thorough understanding of algorithms and technical developments within the search engine marketplace is vital in this role, coupled with an opinion on how SEO and related disciplines are developing.
*Experience of integrating content marketing and social media (including digital PR) into SEO campaigns is also a must, alongside strong onsite technical skills.
*A clear understanding of how search fits into the overall marketing mix and a general understanding of other digital media disciplines and how they relate to SEO campaigns is also required - SEO will not be expected to act in a silo.
*The successful candidate will also have the ability to talk to non-digital colleagues about SEO in language they'll understand.
*Building strong working relationships with colleagues and agencies, including being an effective and confident communicator is vital - you must be able to build consensus around SEO activities onsite where technical resource is limited.
*Detailed SEO knowledge and experience of applying this knowledge onsite and offsite for major brands is a prerequisite - you will be expected to answer technical questions yourself and not rely solely on agencies.
*This is a role for an SEO who likes to be involved in the detail, especially during large onsite projects. It will suit SEO experts with agency or brand experience.
*Understanding of website technologies and an awareness of website development and coding
*Experience of Google Analytics
*Knowledge of FSA and ASA regulations and guidelines is a bonus
*The ability to work across multiple projects to deadline concurrently
*Awareness of MVT and CRO
*Experience of wider content marketing or digital PR initiatives
*Experience of work with digital strategy and creative teams
