Description
Roc Search's client are urgently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a 6 month contract based in Cambridge.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the design of heavy fabricated structures and machine components.
The successful candidate must have the following credentials;
*Good relevant engineering knowledge, with the ability to discuss all technical aspects of the project
*Good 3D CAD skills, AutoCAD and Inventor
*Ability to perform accurate engineering calculations
*Design experience of heavy fabricated structures and machined components
*Excellent technical communication skills
*Must be able to discuss, negotiate and resolve problems in a timely manner
*Highly organised, with the ability to develop alternative solutions
*Willing to travel overseas and work in all types of industrial plant, must have UK driving license
*Keen to share knowledge, to learn and develop new skills
*Good general computer skills, particularly Excel
*Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
Useful but not essential for all positions
*Good engineering degree
*Structural design experience
*Knowledge of hydraulic components and systems
*Some materials handling knowledge
*Knowledge of Baan or other manufacturing systems (ERP/MRP)
