Description
Solution Architect required for a 9 month contract based in Dublin City Centre.
You will be an accomplished solution architect and implementer of virtualization and cloud services, leading technical definition, security assurance and cost optimization derived from virtualization technologies and cloud services.
The Solution Architect will design and deliver cloud solutions both implementing private clouds and exploiting the potential of existing Cloud Computing and other related technologies.
The Solution Architect must have senior level certifications from any of the leading vendors, such as Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, or EMC, with current solution architecture experience for large enterprises.
Strong technical knowledge of cloud technologies including
- System Centre(Service Manager, Operations Manager,
- Orchestrator(runbooks automation), DPM),
- Windows Server,
- Active Directory,
- Hyper-V,
- Cisco and HP Networking,
- Backup technology(Symantec NetBackup, Commvault etc.),
- SAN(Dell, EMC etc.),
- Tape libraries,
- Fabric Switches,
- Cloud(Azure, AWS),
- Mail filters, Web Filters and Firewalls is required.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in supporting the delivery of business cases, design of solution architectures, and hands on experience of multi-phased, complex migration programs that address technology, people/organization, and process change.
You must have proven experience in transferring the solution in an incremental way to a business as usual support team to allow the project delivery team to concentrate on subsequent migration of customers.
In addition, a successful candidate must be able to understand complex IT and business problems and apply technology and product portfolio knowledge to solve customer problems in a consultative manner and articulate the advantages of infrastructure optimization and technology solutions as well as explain the business advantage and results achieved through various alternatives while respecting the views of the personnel in the Public Service organisations.
Essential Requirements/Experience
- Technical knowledge of cloud architectures including SaaS, PaaS and IaaS.
- Leading certifications in core and advanced virtualization technologies and vendor programs, such as MCA, VCAP/VCDX, CCNE, CCIA.
- Direct solution design and implementation experience with Microsoft and/or VMware required; experience in Microsoft environments preferred.
- Demonstrable technical skills and experience designing and implementing IT infrastructure solutions, involving virtualization and cloud technologies.
- Strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure and cloud technologies including System Centre(Service Manager, Operations Manager, Orchestrator, DPM), Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-V, Cisco and HP Networking, Backup technology(NetBackup, Commvault), SAN(Dell, EMC etc.), Tape libraries, Deduplication appliances, Fabric Switches, Cloud(Azure, AWS), Web filtering, Email Filtering, Firewalls is required.
- Degree or equivalent; 10+ years of experience in virtualization and 5+ years in Microsoft technologies in particular.
- IT Security knowledge.
- Extensive knowledge of the Cloud market and the key vendor offerings.
