Description

Job Purpose

A project Accountant role has arisen within the Finance Controls Governance team within Finance Operations, Insurance. Responsibilities of the team centre on the oversight of the Insurance Division Balance Sheet, Policy Compliance activities, Third Party Administrator oversight, Business Continuity activities and Project support.

This role has arisen as a result of new regulatory requirements in relation to the Group Payments Policy (Common Reporting Standards). The role requires the candidate to lead the project on behalf of the team and introduce any new processes into the Insurance division. In addition this role will support senior management in developing the control environment, including interaction with non Finance teams within the Insurance division, and Group Finance. The role will include an element of reconciliation activity and reporting to relevant internal committees and project reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Key deliverables will be to attend all project meetings/workshops on behalf of the team, with responsibility for all project requests/queries and to provide all necessary business unit information.

You will be involved with the scope and design, agreeing process owners across the division, including finding solutions to any issues raised

You will work across all the Insurance division, and be the Finance SME supporting Insurance Finance and Insurance Operations, and assisting the Group Transactions Compliance team. You will advise and assist any offshore sites with process design and reporting requirements

You will be responsible for maintaining Blueprint (Company Secretariat system) and ensure all Insurance entity/fund details are kept up to date (including amendments, deletions, and liaise with Group regarding relevant IRS registrations)

You will also provide updates as required to the Payments Officer, to the Insurance Banking Liquidity and Operations Committee, and complete the applicable sections of the annual Group Payments Policy attestation

You will reconcile master data lists and perform quality assurance checks on the data

The ideal candidate for this position will be will have a knowledge of FATCA Standards and Common Reporting Standards. Ideally you will have worked in a large corporate environment, preferably within Financial Services or Insurance.
