Description
Roc Search's client are urgently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer who has access to their own CAD package for a 6 month contract. The company are specialists in the design of POS products.
Roles & responsibilities:
- Attend client meetings, help to define opportunities and the development of a brief.
- Create concept design solutions in response to customer requirements and for projects originating in-house.
- Generate effective product visuals and presentation materials to communicate the designs to the customer and potential clients.
-Assist with project costing, the generation of quotes and general documentation in support of sales, project administration and delivery.
- General surveying of sites and accurate measuring-up for translation into drawings.
- Take responsibility for producing drawing packs as necessary for manufacture and for communication with other interested parties.
- Liaise with fabrication teams throughout the production process and assist with finding solutions to design or fabrication issues. (This can include occasional travel overseas and involve overnight stays)
- Component and equipment sourcing and evaluation of prototypes
- Produce RAMS documentation for installations.
- Assist with installations in both supervisory and sometimes a practical manner.
