My client currently requires an experienced Controls Designer to join their existing team for an initial 3 month contract with a possibility of extension.
Background/Purpose of Role:
This role has responsilibility for providing ITIL operating process owners, SDLC and PMLC owners across the business area, with controls design expertise at the operational level. This includes assistance with process standardisation as well as the incorporation of SOx controls into operating processes.
They are also responsible for supporting with Independent Reviews and Regulatory Responses.
Key responsibilities:
Operating Controls design:
Facilitate the Design of and Management of the Process and Controls Framework.
Provide Risk and Control Subject Matter Expertise advice and defining control requirements for core operating processes
Liaise with Process Owners to ensure that control requirements are understood and fully integrated into operating processes
Ensure the requirements of SOx are considered and incorporated where required
Participate in Risk and Compliance governance meetings as required
Perform QA review of processes and controls
Manage activities based on project management disciplines
Provide management information on Control Design activities
Drafting of controls presentations for senior management
Coordinate the preparation and documenting of reports to respond to regulatory queries or internal or external audits
Support Dept Head with COO Project activities
Support Dept Head with co-ordination of Independent Reviews
Analyse and enhance operating processes as appropriate
Key Requirements of this role:
Experience
Confident in dealing with all levels within the organisation
Open attitude and experience in implementing change
Proven abilities in facilitation and negotiation
Demonstrated ability to manage well under pressure and to operate in a decisive and inclusive manner
Experience working with outsourced service providers would be an advantage
Skills
Strong understanding of risk and control frameworks. Strong knowledge of controls design and testing
Understand continuous improvement activities
Awareness/knowledge of Frameworks such as COBiT, ITIL AND PMBoK
Strong report writing capability
Analytical Thinking
Project management capabilities
Understanding of audit purpose and process
Knowledge and experience in supporting Live systems/systems development/Service Management
