Description
Duties:- The Unified Communications Technician is responsible for 1st level technical support for both local and remote voice communication systems.
- These systems include all voice systems, voicemail, call accounting, 911/E911, audio and video conferencing, in-room audio and voice recording.
- They are responsible for all configuration changes, monitoring, operating, installing, and maintaining of these systems as it relates to add, change and delete activities.
- Also assists Unified Communications Analysts in system upgrades.
- Performs and/or directs contractor in add hoc voice/data cabling installations and vendor provided station activity.
- Performs and/or assists Vendor/Telco in troubleshooting unified communication circuit and equipment problems.
- May function as a lead for contractors in the absence of the supervisor, but would not have ongoing lead responsibility.
- 3+ years Installing Telecommunication hardware and software.
- 3+ years Troubleshooting and service restoration for telecommunications hardware and software.
- 5+ years Providing, communicating and responding to customer needs.
- Nortel and Lync phone experience
- Associate Degree (Preferred)
- Area of Study: Telecommunications, Electronics or related discipline
