Description

A new opportunity has come available with a prestigious NHS Trust in the South East. This is a senior post working closely with the Assistant Director of Finance Business Analytics, supporting the transformation programme to deliver operational efficiency and cost reductions across clinical and corporate services.

As a senior member of the finance support team on transformation projects you will ensure that Patient First principles and financial sustainability are part of the scope, analysis and deliverables of transformation projects undertaken to improve efficiency in clinical and corporate departments.

To support the development of finance focussed Business Intelligence using SLR/PLICS and benchmarking to enhance service reviews and investment.
The successful candidate will have Considerable experience of working in a Management Accounts Department in the NHS.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Be the main contact for the Programme Management Office re analytical support for the transformation programme.

- Work with Project Managers to assess, evaluate and evidence baseline changes in delivery of operational efficiency's.

- Contribute to overall Transformation and Transactional CIP reports to: Summarise transformation project progress;

- Highlight areas of deteriorating delivery.

- Evidence delivery of efficiency improvements against the baseline

- Have an awareness of the Trust's standard procedures and general policies and how these affect the projects.

- Receive updates and escalate delays in the collation of data which might impact the production and analysis of progress reports, so action can be initiated in a timely manner to obtain the data.

- Assist with the preparation of papers for the Finance and Contracting Group, Trust's Executive Team, Finance and Investment Committee and the Trust Board, on project status and other related matters.

- Continually review the format of information presented by both Project Managers and the Programme Management Office in order to provide ideas to enhance the delivery and representation of this information.

- Maintain the Business Analytics electronic folder and central repository of analytical documentation, such as bench marking reports and SLR reviews.

- To produce accurate and timely financial information, to facilitate the reconciliation of the financial savings dashboard with the Trust financial ledgers.

- To ensure that the transformation programme dashboard accurately reflects the financial position.

- To investigate and obtain explanations for significant variances between the monthly savings forecasts.

SKILLS/ABILITIES

- Excellent IT Skills with the ability to accurately create, input data and manipulate data plus develop reports and documents, using a range of software.

- Excellent Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.

- Ability to be able to interpret and utilise complex information for reporting, forecasting, costing and planning purposes.

- Knowledge of Finance systems and extraction techniques in respect of the finance ledger and finance reports.

- Finance modelling skills.

- To develop month end processes to increase the accuracy and timeliness of financial information.

- Develop strong working relationships with Project Managers, Finance Managers and project staff.

- To deputise for the Assistant Director of Finance - Business Analytics when required.

- To assist with the development and improvement of costing information and annual external submissions for reference costs.

- To assist with the roll out and use of Service Line Reporting and Patient level information and costing (PLICs) across operational and clinical groups.
