FTTP Optical Design Engineer
Location: Reading, Berkshire
Our client, a leading telecommunications organisation are seeking a FTTP Optical Design Engineer to lead a team of designers for design of cost effective optical distribution network (ODN) for FTTP turnkey projects
Responsibilities include;
- prepare, monitor and control the FTTP cable network civil design activities by internal staff and/or subcontractors in ensuring that the ODN network is designed in a cost effective manner
- manage the ODN design activities in ensuring that the design output are submitted and approved timely to meeting the projects schedule, quality standards and customer needs
- conduct Design Review Meetings and Workshops as required; and to formulate and approve the ODN design guidelines and drafting standards/requirements for the turnkey project
- investigate and determine if survey reports/results are acceptable and determine/justify the Feeder, FDT and Distribution cable routing and locations
- carry out feasibility and BOQ study and formulate Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) on FTTP ODN projects, and prepare proposals or reports
Background;
- Experience working on large scale Fiber to the premises projects (FTTP), preferably in the UK market
- 3+ years experience in optical telecommunications
- Able to lead team
- Able to start in 2-3 weeks
