Network Engineer with Unified Communications skills required to join global technology and communications company.
The Video and Collaboration Technical Leader provides Cisco Unified Communications consulting expertise for strategic large customers, with a focus on Cisco Video and Cisco Telepresence Systems. The skills range from detailed technical knowledge of a collaboration system architecture to application specific business needs.
The Video and Collaboration Technical Leader develops the design of the customer Video and VoIP solution at the systems and network level. The individual will execute to the Cisco Collaboration Delivery Methodology, best practices documentation development and thought leadership is expected.
The position involves onsite presence in Turin (Italy) for at least 80% of the time over the long-term (6 months minimum, most likely to be extended).
Fluent Italian required.
Responsibilities:
Will act in a technical team leadership capacity and provides support for as focal point for highly complex customer problems which impact operations and engineering.
Assist and support identifying skills and business shortfalls in a customer environment, and participate in establishing programs to address them
Generates voice and video network configurations from Low Level Design for highly complex environments; expected to generate standard project documentation including detailed test plan for highly complex networks.
Performs analysis and diagnosis of highly complex Collaboration/Video/VoIP networking problems.
Builds simulated VoIP networks in test labs to resolve highly complex problems and compatibility issues.
Plans and executes highly complex Collaboration/Video/VoIP Upgrade and Migration activity.
Assists customer with deployment of related tools that support a customer and related Network Management Systems
Troubleshoots and resolves the highly complex customer Collaboration/Video/VoIP network problems across a broad range of technologies.
Supports pre-sales activity for highly complex networks.
Expected to write technical white papers for new technologies supported by Advanced Services in an effort to develop Collaboration/Video/VoIP network design & architecture best practices for Advanced Services.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Expert level knowledge in Cisco Business Video, Telepresence end point systems (immersive and non-immersive) and IP Collaboration including Cisco Unified Communication Manager, Cisco Telepresence,Server, Cisco conductor, Cisco Expressway, Cisco Voice Gateway, Multiconferencing units, Cisco Firewalls, Telepresence Management System (TMS) and strong knowledge in areas of LAN Switching.
Expert level internetworking troubleshooting in a large-scale network environment.
Large-scale network design skills.
In-depth knowledge of network management, network availability & capacity planning.
Must possess strong technical account management skills, leadership attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Collaboration CCIE
Typically requires BS, CS, or University degree equivalent plus 8-10 years experience in network engineering or telecommunications support environment. Advanced degree strongly preferred.
