Senior Project Manager - Financial Services £550-£650 per day - 6 months - Birmingham
My client, a leading financial services organisation, are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead the management and implementation of the organisations Business Risk transformation and change initiative agenda.
You will be responsible for leading, coaching and managing the Transformation Team to ensure that all transformation activity is implemented and aligned to the strategic imperatives of its procedural integrity and with minimal adverse impact on ongoing business operations as far as possible. Directly managing a team of 3 and with Matrix management of a transformation team of 60, you will be expected to drive through change initiatives within the Business Risk function.
Key Experiences:
- Banking experience is absolutely essential
- Experience of working around business risk change initiatives is essential
- Agile and flexible, being able to bring structure and resolution to ambiguous situations and problems whilst adapting to the needs of the business and key stakeholders. They will be required to negotiate and influence at all levels
- Required to work with other functions inside and outside of Business Risk function and their span of influence will be broad and wide across UK and Group business lines
- Required to build strong relationships with stakeholders and business partners to ensure agreed consensus and influence change outcomes, to deliver transformational solutions and results
- Able to identify and recommend innovative solutions which leverage emerging technologies and systems whilst bringing pragmatic solutions and responses as well as effective and efficient implementations
- Looking to anticipate issues and risks, addressing them quickly and effectively engaging with wider stakeholders as required
Key Responsibilities:
Transformation and change initiative management
- To ensure the organisations Business Risk transformation agenda is initiated, driven and implemented within all agreed and required time lines.
- Transformation and change initiatives will require initiation, analysis, design, risk assessment, problem/ongoing management, monitoring, measurement, implementation, and review.
- To be an ambassador for Business Risk function in driving transformation and other initiatives ensuring compliance with the highest local, regulatory and Group standards and delivering to CMB strategy.
- Effective planning and resource allocation to be applied to ensure the team adapts and delivers to rapidly changing priorities.
- Use of change disciplines to ensure structure and control is maintained.
- Co-ordinate the Business Risk transformation work slates ensuring appropriate prioritisation.
- Plan and lead all Business Risk transformation initiatives using resource effectively and managing changing priorities.
- Make business decisions in respect of systems and judge when to defer and escalate them.
- The nature of transformation initiatives varies greatly so achievement requires a high degree of adaptability in working with other areas.
- Effective alignment through face to face meetings, presentations, internal communications, building stakeholder confidence.
