Communications Manager - Insurance Change - 6 months - Edinburgh

A top retail bank based in Edinburgh is currently seeking a Communications Manager to join a programme with the intention to improve the processing and people infrastructure across Insurance Operations.

Overview of the Programme/Project

  • The role reports to the Head of PMO, supporting them in the production of senior stakeholder materials/collateral
  • The role also provides communications and stakeholder management support across the scope of the whole programme.
  • Leads the Insurance Customer Delivery Transformation programme communication scope and approach covering channels, media and articulating key messages

Role Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement an ongoing communication and stakeholder management plan for the programme
  • Build and manage stakeholder log
  • Draft, edit and organise sign off of communications - and issue through a variety of media and channels
  • Ability to build senior exec stakeholder packs eg take detailed information and present in a concise and informative way Interlock with the BAU communications owners
  • Document Key Business Processes
  • Improved and standardised Recruitment, Training & Development
  • Accurate customer letters & statements
  • Implementation of Service Excellence re-design & roll-in
  • Enhanced Organisational Design & Operating Model
  • Upgraded forecasting, planning & MI capability

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Creativity - ability to build and deliver engaging messages
  • Must have experience of either undertaking a strategic communication leadership role or significant programme experience with a people/communication specialism
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent PowerPoint skills
  • The role will support senior workstream leads and also execs - good stakeholder and relationship management skills are required
  • Ability to handle ambiguity
  • Work in a Matrix programme environment and contribute/adhere to programme governance eg producing milestone plans, reporting, management of risks and issues
  • Has experience and understanding of a financial services company specifically Life, Pensions and Investments
  • Experience of colleague engagement activity specifically linked to communications and change programmes
