Restructuring Deputy Director - Diligence, Insolvency, Contingency

Contract. Coventry. 1 year. £400-£450 per day

Our public sector client has an urgent requirement for a Restructuring Deputy Director. The successful candidate will report into the director of the transactions Unit and will provide Financial modelling and diligence, produce written reports and financial appraisals on investment cases and build relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Accountabilites

  • Written reports and financial appraisals on investment cases.
  • Financial modelling.
  • Financial diligence.
  • Relationship building and stakeholder management.
  • Preparation of papers for investment and credit committees.
  • Insolvency and contingency planning advice to inform restructuring facility terms and conditions.
  • Focus on assessing the financially viability, sustainability, and resilience of proposals and whether the cost to government is minimised.
  • Lead the diligence process. Deliverable - investment cases, on demand.
  • Manage discussions with management and the other stakeholders eg lenders - deliverable - consensual restructuring case or closure case.
  • Sensitise and adjust the forecast to understand debt capacity - deliverable - investment case.
  • Transfer professional restructuring and diligence skills to the Civil Service colleagues.

Key skills and experience

  • Qualified accountant
  • Team leadership experience
  • At least 10 years' experience in restructuring and/or stressed and distressed advisory
  • Leadership experience in delivering assignment/project outcome objectives in dedicated teams on large Independent Business Reviews.
  • Report writing skills.
  • Financial modelling experience
  • Diligence experience
  • Relationship building and stakeholder management;
  • Experience in Preparation of papers for investment and credit committees;
  • Insolvency and contingency planning experience.
  • public sector experience is helpful but not essential.
