IMMEDIATE HIRE for a Firewall Engineer!

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Network Firewalls and Management Networks and must be well versed in troubleshooting and maintaining Firewalls in general. This is a long term, contract position (with opportunity to extend) working remotely anywhere within the US.

DUTIES
Ability to understand a customer's business needs and translate needs into IT specific requirements.
Apply knowledge of the customer's functions and processes to develop business case and business requirement documents.
Assess the benefits of recommended solutions.
Involve clients in defining strategic expectations. Integrate technology strategy into clients' long-range plans.
Identify opportunities that add long-term value.
Contribute to cross-functional strategic planning and assesses risk and benefits of forecasts.
Participants in creating client strategies that assist them in achieving their primary objectives.
Applies quality assurance, testing concepts, and methodologies.
Construct comprehensive test plans based on a thorough understanding of business requirements.
Impart confidence that a product optimally fulfills customers' expectations.
Anticipate, identify, and define problems.
Seeks root causes. Develops and implements practical and timely solutions.
Conduct Firewall policy reviews for audit and inventory.
Evaluate Firewall architecture of existing platforms and recommend changes to improve and optimize the environment.
Design and implement new Firewall infrastructure to support new functionality or additional capacity, ensuring stability, uptime, and security.
Assist with decommissioning, migration, integration, or installation of equipment.
Monitor traffic and access logs in order to construct additional policies.
Write technical documents as necessary describing base security requirements and architecture.
Perform risk assessments, provide recommendations and present findings.
Mentor and coach Information Security Administrators.
Document policies and operating procedures.
Participate in an Incident Response Team as necessary.

REQUIRED
5+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study.
Without a degree, 3 additional years of relevant professional experience required - 8+ years in total.
Should be able to install, configure, and manage Cisco Firewalls (ASA 5500 series, PIX, FWSM).
Should be able to install, configure, and manage Checkpoint R75 on SPLAT/Nokia IPSO/Blade architecture, and VSX Appliance.
Excellent Troubleshooting skills on Firewall, Email, web security solutions.
Should be able to configure ASA/FWSM in Multiple context modes.
Should have excellent knowledge in NAT/PAT concepts.
Should have good understanding and hands-on experience in NIPS (Cisco IPS, Tipping point, McAfee, Checkpoint).
Experience in implementing the RSA SecureID, Cisco ACS, Bluecoat.
Should have excellent and hands-on experience in IPSEC/SSL VPN.
Experience in installing and configuring IPS/IDS in various deployment scenarios.
Basic Knowledge on OS - Linux and Windows.
Should have good conceptual knowledge on Proxies.
Should have solid understanding on Routing (OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, Static routing) and Switching concepts.
Should have conceptual knowledge on Email and Web Security.
Should have basic understanding on DNS.
Should be able to analyze the logs and events.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

DESIRED
CCSP/CCSA/CCSE/JNCIA/JNCIS/CISSP/CISA certifications are HIGHLY desired!
