Description of the Business Line or Department
The Communication department of Societe Generale UK is ensuring:
- The definition of the Communication strategy in the UK, in line with Societe Generale group Communication;
- The promotion of Societe Generale's brand, culture, values, and business expertise on the UK platform;
- The support of its business activities, principally in Financing & Advisory, Global Market and Investment Services, Wealth and Asset Management.
The Communication team is organised around 3 pillars:
- Media Relations;
- Corporate Communications;
- Events.
Summary
The internship offered in the Societe Generale UK communication teams allows a 2-year experience dedicated to contributing to the promotion of Societe Generale to its stakeholders, both internal and external, with specific missions:
- 50% to provide support for the Media Relations team, across all press activities;
- 50%, as part of the Corporate Communications team, to support business and brand communication activities.
Responsibilities
* Within the Media Relations team, the main responsibilities will be as follows:
- To assist the team and working with the UK PR agency:
* Assist in organisation of media events (press parties, cocktails, roundtables, press briefings)
* Drafting and issuing of basic press releases, eg appointments, organisational, where appropriate and under supervision
* Support distribution of research to media including compiling information, obtaining approval and distribution, under supervision of Media Team
* Proof reading/editing of communications materials (press releases, Q&A, press statements, talking points, etc) produced by the wider team, under the supervision of head of team
* General administration such as updating relevant databases and media lists
* Within the Corporate communications team, the main responsibilities will be as follows:
- Production and publication of editorial content on the owned media platforms: Intranet, Internet, social media:
* Publication of corporate messages. Support with the Back Office management, and contribution to editorial content.
- Branding & Advertising paid media communication actions:
* Support on brand guidelines, brand promotion action, sponsorship contracts.
- Communication needs of the business and corporate functions:
* Act as a support to the teams dedicated to manage the specific communication of the businesses and support functions.

Competencies and Work Experience

Technical skills
Strong understanding of Communication principles
Excellent writing skills
Use of digital media is a must; knowledge of CMS and/or community management is an asset

Qualifications
Education
- University degree in Marketing/Communications, Literature, Modern Languages or Arts
- Graduate leaver or someone with relevant experience who would like exposure to communication strategies
Languages
- Fluency in English both written and spoken is a must
- French/or another European language is an asset
