Description
Harvey Nash's Public Sector client in Glasgow requires a Communications Officer/Executive to join their team on an initial 6 month contract. You will be working with an existing team that delivers strategic communications objectives to the business.
The main purpose of this role is to deliver communications and engagement campaigns across some of the organisation's key projects.
Key duties will include:
* Support communications campaigns with external audiences including media, industry bodies/government and customers
* Work in the corporate communications team with responsibility for developing and implementing proactive corporate communications activities
* Working closely with Communications manager to provide communications counsel on reactive issues and proactive opportunities
* Speech writing support
* Primary point of contact for incoming media enquiries for national, regional, online, broadcast and social media on corporate issues
* Build social media within the corporate communication mix
Essential Skills:
* Experienced in a similar Communications role
* Knowledge of media in the UK
* Strong awareness of media campaigns
* Material writing skills for campaigns
* Knowledge of PR/Communication techniques and mechanisms (from brief to execution)
