An Automotive Manufacturing company are recruiting NOW for a Design Engineer to work on a temporary contract basis for up to 6 months at an hourly rate of £30PH. The Design Engineer will have extensive experience on Catia V5 with exposure in the automotive industry. This role involves designing jigs, fixtures and automated equipment. Job Description
The Design Engineer will be responsible for the following:
- To provide drawings and parts list for new jigs, fixtures and automated equipment generated with CATIA software. Provide diagrams for hydraulic and pneumatic controls were needed.
- Design jigs, fixtures and automated equipment within agreed time scales and budgets, according to UK health and safety legislation, LK and international standards, to achieve: - reliability, maintainability and durability.
- To maintain effective control of jigs, fixtures and automated equipment drawing
- system, by updating drawings followed by external and internal modifications and
- repairs.
- To provide technological support on cost saving and continuous improvement programmes.
- To ensure full commitment and support for training, communications, health and safety (including IMS), housekeeping and personal discipline.
- To ensure all 8D and problem reports activities are completed within the specified time scales.
- NVQ or degree or equivalent within a Design or Engineering discipline.
- Experience of working within the Automotive industry would be advantageous
- Proficient in Catia V5
- Excellent communication skills
- Available to start on Monday 18th July or as near to.
