Description

I am working on behalf of The Guardian News and Media, who are renowned for leading edge journalism, product and commercial development and famous for nurturing talented individuals. They are looking for a Senior Marketing Manager to join their growing team. This role will lead the acquisition marketing team responsible for using Biddable Media in generating revenues for the Guardian's commercial businesses.

Developing Direct Response marketing plans and execution across SEO and all paid media channels including PPC, Display and Paid Social Media. Delivering against business targets, monitoring, optimising performance across all metrics. Playing a key role in the forecasting and planning process for acquisition marketing and liaising across other marketing channel functions.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing a team of Managers and Executives - training, motivating and developing them to ensure a high standard of performance and delivery as well as a happy motivated team.
  • Providing detailed traffic and revenue forecasts for PPC, SEO, Off platform Display and Paid Social for all business units.
  • Building marketing plans to deliver business targets as agreed.
  • Closely monitor and track performance, with detailed attention to ongoing testing, optimisation and iterating to improve performance. Close focus on key metrics and ROI. Be agile in responding to changes in performance to flex Paid media levers to deliver the optimum return for the business.
  • Manage media agencies and creative studio where appropriate. Ensure all creative is on brand and hard working for response purposes, working with the brand marketing team
  • Develop processes, reporting and communication to ensure that all teams both direct and indirect have a clear view of the activity and issues that this team encounter
  • Produce accurate, clear, insightful and useful reports which provide the whole MMCR team with an overview of activity.
  • Liaise with the data team to ensure implementation, tracking and reporting of Analytics for Paid media is accurate. Similarly for off-platform media, ensure that there is a good level of reporting
  • Identifying, evaluating new paid media products and channels with a view to testing to improve performance and channel mix
  • Liaise with Business management where necessary to improve on site conversion issues and create smooth customer journeys from acquisition activity.
  • Understand the full customer journey for the user we are targeting and work with other marketing channel reps and the business owners to highlight any issues with the customer journey impacting conversion
