Site Supervisor - 6 months - Cranbrook - Negotiable Daily Rate
A leading energy and Utilities clients of Pontoon is looking for a Site Supervisor to join their Communitity Energy Site in Cranbrook.
Job Purpose:-
Site based role to ensure the successful delivery of a Community Energy (CE) project. Assist the Project Delivery Manager (PDM) to ensure that the project is delivered in accordance with the programme and budget whilst maintaining premier safety, health, environmental and technical quality standards. Ensure that the project achieves the required design, specifications and complies with regulatory and legislative requirements.
Key Activities:-
- Assist the PDM to deliver the project activities to time, cost, quality and safety targets
- Assist the Planner/Controller in preparing short term look-ahead work programmes in accordance with the Project plan
- Ensure that the project is delivered to the design specification as well as relevant legislation and to the highest standards of quality and safety, health and environmental norms by both external and internal service providers (ESPs and ISPs)
- Provide analytical support to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the project
- Maintain accurate site records for progress, quality and safety, health and environmental requirements
- Record and identify problem areas or complaints and carry out agreed actions
- Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with developers, ESPs and ISPs
- Be the sole client representative on site, be the primary site contact for developers, ESPs, ISPs and any approaches from the general public
- Attend design, progress and service provider meetings as well as recording and monitoring actions, where required
- Assist the PDM to fulfil the CDM role requirements where necessary
Key Skill Requirements:-
- Appropriate mechanical engineering or building services qualification and experience.
- Supervisor's CSCS card.
- SSSTS or NEBOSH (Construction) Certificate
- Extensive experience in the installation of boiler plant rooms, energy centres or building services eg gas boilers, CHP.
- Knowledge and experience of district heating networks and energy centres would be desirable.
- Numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and information and produce it in a clear and logical format.
- A pro-active approach to problem solving.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to ensure the most effective delivery of the programme.
- Oral and written communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to take a confident and diplomatic approach with staff, contractors, customers, and managers.
- A working knowledge of PC based computer systems and the ability to adapt.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including CDM, Electricity at Work Act, HASAWA, TMA.
- A thorough understanding and detailed experience in CDM responsibilities.
